Thanks a Mil(l)iard
Everyone knows the British don’t like to use American words where the Queen’s English version would do:
- flashlight=torch
- gnarly=grotty
- first floor=ground floor
- tired=knackered
- fries=chips
- billion=milliard
Mike Miliard of the Boston Phoenix Sox Blog mentioned this site today, as have A Red Sox Fan in Pinstripe Territory, Bullshit Memorial Stadium, and The Joy of Sox. Cheers and ta, you’re a group of ace blokes and Bob’s your uncle. These sites are just the bees knees, and I’m not telling porkies. Click on the links and stop faffing around.

Actually, the name used to have that second "L" ... it's French-Canadian! (We've always wondered what our Gallic ancestor had a billion of...certainly it was not francs). But somewhere along the line my semi-literate great grandfather from Maine dropped one of the Ls. C'est la vie, eh?
Anyway, great blog! I'm very impressed. It will be part of my regular reading for the many months of baseball that stretch before us.
Go you Sox!
